Things are about to get busy for me. In about 3 weeks, I’ll be transferring part of my art studio to a dream space in the Historic Main Street District of Water Valley, MS. Finding any commercial rental property in Water Valley is difficult, but finding property on Main Street is almost impossible. I’ve been trying to find a space for 2.5 years. I am thrilled that a space became available, but as soon as I walked in the door, I knew I had found a perfect spot for all the things I want to do there.

This old painted brick wall is along one wall of my new studio/art school. This was the exterior wall of the next building before my space was added [many years ago]. This wall is about 20′ – 25′ long. The ceiling is at least 15′ tall. The other 3 walls are white, and the ceiling is alive with lights–placed every few feet. I have sinks and a bathroom. My cup runneth over

Location, Location, Location

My new art school is located in the above cluster of buildings. Immediately next to my building is the site of the Water Valley Main Street Association. That group sponsors many of the arts events in town. During the fall, they host Art Crawl.

My new space is 500 square feet, and it is one big room. One of the 25′ long walls is comprised of old painted bricks, and the room has a bit of a grungy, industrial feel about it.

I plan to set up one side of the room with tables and chairs for art classes and other activities, but I plan to set up the other side of the room as a cozy living space that will be attractive to other types of groups.

I want to offer this area as a meeting headquarters for other arts & cultural groups to use, and I want to offer a variety of Arty Parties for all ages.

Think: “Arty Party” – I plan to move my eclectic, semi-formal living room along the brick wall in my new space. I have a large, formal dining room table and a refrigerator to move there, too: Plan any kind of Arty Party, and we can accommodate you: baby & bridal showers, birthday parties, ladies groups, wine & drawing or painting, etc,
