During the Week of January 5, Jacki Kellum will begin teaching painting at her arts studios and school of arts, which is located at 32 South Main in Water Valley, Mississippi. Jacki Kellum has been teaching a variety of arts skills for over 50 years, and she will initially teach watercolor and acrylic painting lessons and art classes for kids.

Jacki Kellum is a Colorist, and in addition to teaching the technique of watercolor painting. she also teaches her personal color theory and how and when to apply colors in all painting mediums:

What Is Painting with Bravura?

When a painter paints in a daring, slap-dash way, he is said to have painted with bravura

When an artist paints with bravura, his brushstrokes have an energy all their own, and segments of a painting can be enjoyed simply because of the way that they are painted, irrespective of the subject matter of the painting.

When an artist paints with bravura, his paintings are said to be painterly.

i paint quickly and decisively in watercolor, too. This type of execution requires that a painter has become fairly confident about how the subject looks. Even if a painter wants his work to be more classical [smoother and with less bravura], painting energetically should be the first step.

For that reason, I start my teen and adult students with both gesture drawing and contour drawing–the precursor for painting with bravura–with energy and freedom.
