I grew up in a small, rural community during the 1950s, and both my dad and my grandmother were avid gardeners. While I am sure I did not appreciate it at the time, one of my most vivid springtime memories is of the wilted lettuce ingredients growing in my garden.
Of coourse, that means a ready supply of fresh garden lettuce and green onions. But it also means a supply of radishes. While my folks grew the little red radishes, I am also growing Easter Egg radishes in my garden this year.]
