For several years, I have ordered my tomato plants in winter from Bonnie on Amazon. The plants are shipped in an elaborate packaging system,
and not one plant has been damaged during shipping. The tomatoes arrive in small, clear pots that are protected inside a little greenhouse. I’ll wash the pots and reuse them, along with their little greenhouses, to start other seeds. “I use the whole buffalo.” The sturdy boxes with handles have also found other uses in my home.
Because I have free shipping there, I order my plants from Amazon, but you can also order Bonnie Plants directly from the company’s website. If you spend $50 there, you will receive free shipping.
As I have said, I have ordered Bonnie tomato plants for several years, and I am never disappointed with the success of the plants I order. The plants grow well, and they produce high yields of fruits. By ordering my tomatoes in winter and repotting them in larger pots, I add weeks to the time that I eat fresh produce from my garden.
In the following post, I detail how I repot and grow my tomatoes inside, and I also list each of the types of tomatoes I’ll grow this year–and why.
