Cordoba Tenor Ukuleles – A Comparison

When I was a child I taught myself to play a ukulele. That would have been in about 1960–long before I had a  computer and Youtube to help me. I lived in a rural community, and I ordered my first ukulele from a Sears Roebuck Catalog. Ater the ukulele arrived, I was on my own to learn how to play it. I am saying this to assure you that learning to play a ukulele is a simple task–even a child can do it. Fortunately, however, Today’s would-be ukulele players have the benefit of mastering the skill via online training. That is the concept behind my new program: Ukulele Daily.

As a child, my Sears Roebuck Ukulele seemed to be more than adequate. But for my more mature musical excursions, I elect to play Cordoba Tenor Ukuleles.

I currently own 3 Cordoba Ukuleles: The Cordoba TM 15-the Cordoba TMe-and the Cordoba TM 20. In this post, I’ll compare these 3 ukes.

“The primary difference between the two instruments is that the Cordoba 20TM features a solid mahogany top, whereas the Cordoba 15TM is built entirely from laminate (layered) mahogany. This construction choice gives the 20TM a warmer, more resonant sound that matures over time, while the 15TM serves as a more budget-friendly, structurally robust alternative.”

“The 20 series ukuleles feature a solid Mahogany top and Mahogany back and sides. The natural dual-herringbone wood pattern rosette and satin finish make this a truly beautiful instrument for both beginners and ukulele enthusiasts alike. Available in soprano (20SM), concert (20CM) tenor (20TM) and baritone (20BM) sizes.”
