Last Week, I began teaching Ukulele Lessons at Jacki Kellum Studios in Water Valley Mississippi. Disclaimer: I am not a great classical guitarist. Nor am I a great, classical ukulele player. I cannot teach a person that level of musicianship, but I can teach a person how to play chords for singing along–just for fun.
In my opinion, most people need to cultivate things they do Just for Fun, and that’s the motivation behind my newest programs: Ukulele Just for Fun and Ukulele – Daily.
For the next several months, I’ll share the chords daily for one song. Initially, the songs will be very simple. The purpose is to help ANYONE learn to play a Ukulele Just for Fun. If folks have a Ukulele at home, they can follow along with the program Free, but I have several ukes at the studio for folks to try, and I teach Ukulele Classes for $25 per hour.

Sing for Your Supper at Jacki Kellum Studios
In about 1 month, the Studios will begin hosting regular Sing for Your Supper Potlucks Free for everyone who wants to get together to jam a few songs and sing Just for Fun. If you only want to sing, you need no weekly lessons and if you already play a ukulele or guitar, you need no lessons. Just practice the songs I post, and you will be good to go.
But if you want to play a uke for the supper club gatherings and don’t know how to play a uke, I can teach you that. The cost is $25 per hour, unless you take an art or textiles class from me. In that case, the Ukulele Classes are free.
At first, the songs will be very simple–like He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands or Skip to My Lou. You can play those two songs with only 2 chords.
How to Play Skip to My Lou on a Ukulele – Easy with Two Chords – History of that Song
This week, I am teaching songs with only 3 chords:
How to Play You Are My Sunshine on a Ukulele – Easy with Three Chords – History of that Song
After that, I’ll teach songs with 4 chords, and you can play tons of songs with 4 chords:
After we are awesome at playing our ukes, I’ll begin teaching how to play guitar.
