Two winters ago, I made an amazing discovery: Kaytee Nut & Fruit Birdseed. Over the years, I have purchased several other birdseed brands, but Kaytee Nut & Fruit is more natural and thus, the  seed that my birds prefer.

 

Initially, I repeatedly purchased the Nut & Fruit seed simply because my birds preferred it, but by March of last year, I realized that as my birds had visited my feeders, they had also inadvertently planted sunflowers all around my yard.

Kaytee Nut & Fruit seed is loaded with large chunks of fruit–especially cherries–as well as with full sunflower seeds. Beneath every bird feeder in my yard, there are sunflower seeds that my birds drop, as they eat,

Sunflower seeds germinate easily, and because Kaytee uses large, full seeds–as opposed to broken bits of seed and other filler in their feed, the dropped seeds became bouquets of sunflowers. And the growing sunflowers also feed my birds.

As the Kaytee-planted sunflowers mature, the birds also feed from the seeds left inside the flowers.

And again, many of those seeds also drop to the ground and they ultimately germinate into more flowers and thus, I can truly say that Kaytee Nut & Fruit Birdsee is the “Gift that Keeps on Giving.”
