Beginning soon, I’ll lead a FREE online design/drawing in magic marker course. I’m doing this to coordinate with my Celebration of Advent. I’ll have conflicts some days, but when I don’t have a conflict, I’ll be there.
I have several goals for the projects:
- Teach How to Color with Magic Marker without Making a Muddy Mess.
- Teach Composition and Design
- Reinforce Something Important from the Bible Story of the day,
- Help the Participant Make Homemade Ornaments for their Indoor Christmas and/or Jesse Trees, [These ornaments won’t work for outdoor trees,]
Everyone will need to purchase a 12-Count Set of Crayola Brand Magic Markers,
I Taught Art for 1,000 years in schools and privately. Listen when I tell you this:
ONLY BUY CRAYOLA BRAND MAGIC MARKERS
ONLY BUY BROAD-TIPPED MARKERS FOR NOW
I Suggest Starting with the following set of 12 Crayola Brand Magic Markers: $4.98 on Amazon.
Trust me. In this case, bigger is not better–at least not at first.
For at least the first week, I’ll hammer home the color order of using the markers correctly, I’ll only use a few colors each day. Too Many Choices is Crazy-Making.
The participant will also need the following package of card stock from Amazon or a similar package. Cyber Monday Price $5.44 for 30 sheets of paper. If you are near a Hobby Lobby, I recommend the White Heavy Duty Cardstock,
You will also need a decent pair of scissors to cut your paper into shapes suitable for ornaments:
If You and/or Your Child Participate until Christmas, Reward Him, Her, and/or Yourself with the Bold Set of 40: The Big 40 Markers: Wow! $14.67 on Amazon
Nice but Not Necessary: I recommend that everyone interested in both the Bible and Design buy The National Geographic Treasury of Bible Stories:
