Edith Holden was a naturalist, artist, and illustrator who created during the Edwardian Age. Many people are not familiar with Holen’s work, but they would probably know about her contemporary Beatrix Potter, who created the tradition of Peter Rabbit and his friends.

Edith Holden was born in 1871, and she grew up in Birmingham England. Beatrix Potter was born in 1866, and she grew up in Kensington Gardens in England, which is about 200 miles away from Birmingham. Both ladies were naturalists, and they spent many hours outside studying and painting studies of the natural world. Both women were identified as illustrators of children’s books.
I identify with both Holden and Potter. Like both of these women, I create children’s books, and I am an avid naturalist. I spend an immense amount of time in my garden, and I am committed to the idea of journaling.
I have collected many books that were created by both Holden and Potter.
