Marble Cheesecake Brownies

Ingredients

Cheesecake Batter

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg
-
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
-
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
Brownie Batter
-
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
-
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
-
2 eggs
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
Mixing bowls
-
8 in. or 9 in. square baking pan
-
Non-stick spray
-
Electric stand mixer or hand mixer
Instructions
- Step 1 –Prepare the pan. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray 8 in. or 9 in. square pan with vegetable pan spray.
- Step 2 –Make cheesecake layer. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until creamy.
- Step 3 –Add egg and almond extract and mix well.
- Step 4 –Stir in chocolate chips and set aside.
- Step 5 –Make brownie batter. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
- Step 6 –In a medium microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips.
- Step 7 –Remove melted chocolate mixture from the microwave and then stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
- Step 8 –Add flour mixture and mix until just combined.
- Step 9 –Mix batters together. Alternate dropping spoonfuls of the brownie mix and cheesecake filling into the prepared baking pan. Swirl the two batters together to create a marbled effect using a knife.
- Step 10 –Bake & enjoy! Place the pan in the pre-heated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely to room temperature before cutting. Wilton
