Morning Has Broken – Jacki Kellum Acrylic Painting Study
This piece says very much about me. I am always struggling to evoke the light. Morning breaks again and again. Regardless of the darkness in between, “Joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
It’s Christmas Morning, and when I awoke this morning, it was still dark outside.,but I had allowed a few Christmas lights to shine through the night. As I walked down the dim hallway toward my living area, the fairy-lit Christmas-Morning-Light filled my spirit, and I uttered the phrase: “Morning Has Broken.”
On December 25th, Christians Celebrate Christmas. The official period of Advent ends on December 24th, and according to some liturgical calendars, December 25th is the First Day of Christmas.
A couple of days ago, I admitted that I had found my Christmas decorations late and had begun decorating for Christmas late. Today, I’m rather glad about that. During Advent, I limited my Bible stories to those that occurred before the birth of Jesus. During the next 11 days, I plan to celebrate a bit of the life of Jesus. As of today, we have embarked upon the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Today, I’ll share the first chapter of The Greatest Story Ever Told. He’ sHere! Morning Has Broken. The Light Has Come!

Christmas in My Garden
Yesterday, on Christmas Eve, I worked in my garden, and I created a Youtube Video about my Advent Gardens. I also said that although the Advent season of 2024 ended on December 24, a different type of Advent would begin today–in my garden.
I currently live in Mississippi again, and the weather will be moderate during the 12 days of Christmas. I plan to spend much of the next 12 days working in my garden, where I find a great source of personal light.
Today is December 25, 2024, and I did the followingthings in my garden:
I created a new garden bed
I sowed Red Clover seed over much of the soil.
I sowed red poppy and bachelor button seeds.
