Better Homes and Gardens online has a great article that details the elements of a cottage garden, and one of those elements is that of curved, natural pathways. My garden is a veritable maze of curved pathways:

When I lived in the Ozark mountains, I had an abundance of big, flat rocks to create curvy paths in every direction.

And those paths began right outside my back door, where I created a little, outside sitting room–complete with the cedar walls that I built there.
One of my pathways turned off the main path and circled behind the back wall of my garden.
A year ago, I moved back to Mississippi, and I have no natural stone here. Now, I am creating my curving paths with old bricks.
The photo above was taken on July 1, 2023, and that area of my arden has vastly changed.
The same area on July 22, 2024 – But circling trough this area, I still have my curved brick path:
