Cinnamon – Memories of Mom and Apple Pie – Health Benefits & Essential Oil Blends

Cinnamon has many potential health benefits, including:

  • Blood sugar

Cinnamon may help lower blood sugar levels, especially in people with type 2 diabetes. It may also improve insulin sensitivity, which helps regulate blood sugar.

  • Heart health

Cinnamon may help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and reduce blood pressure.

  • Inflammation

Cinnamon’s antioxidants may help reduce inflammation in the body, which can help with chronic pain, cognitive decline, and heart disease.

  • Brain health

Cinnamon may improve cognitive function, including memory and attention span. It may also help protect the brain from age-related decline by increasing the production of proteins that are important for brain health.

  • Antimicrobial

Cinnamon has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.

  • Cancer

Cinnamon’s antioxidants may help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals, which may lower the risk of cancer.

  • Viruses
Some research suggests that cinnamon may help protect against certain viruses, including HIV-1, influenza, and Dengue – Google ai

Because of its warmth and its association with holiday pies, cinnamon is a perfect essential oil for fall. I have placed a second diffuser in my kitchen, and I run cinnamon blends in that diffuser all year.
