Rose – Potpourri
Ingredients
2 c. dried rose petals
3 Drops Rose Essential Oil HIQILI Brand
1 T. Fixativerae
Process:
Several hours before I added the flowers, I mixed 6 drops of rose essential oil into 2 T. of Cellulose Fixative, and I allowed that to set in a covered glass jar.
HIQILI Brand Rose Essential Oil has a true rose fragrance.
Use glass in making potpourri. Other materials might react.
For this batch of potpourri, I used cellulose fiber as a fixative. The fixative helps the potpourri retain its fragrance.
I plan to embroider sachet bags in which I’ll place scented potpourri:
History of Scented Sachet Bags
“Scented sachets have a long history and have been used for many purposes in different cultures:

China
The earliest known sachets in China date back 3,000 years, and were used to repel insects and ward off evil spirits. They were often worn by children and the elderly, and were filled with powders like wormwood, sandalwood, and realgar. During the Warring States period (475–221 BCE–206 BCE–220 CE), sachets were used as clothing accessories and mosquito repellents. In the Han dynasty, rural Chinese women are thought to have originated the “fragrant sachet”.
