Today, I want to offer a shout-out to Lisa Bardot, who has developed the successful business Bardot Brush. I have several things to say about Lisa. You see, I lucked into the Bardot Brush site four years ago, when I first downloaded the Ipad app Procreate. Although I did not stick with the challenge to master Procreate four years ago, I did hang around long enough to see Lisa Bardot’s earliest Procreate tutorials. Quite honestly, one of the reasons that I moved away from Bardot Brush then was that I did not appreciate the art she was creating via Procreate. But now, I am looking at the Bardot site again, and over the past few years, Lisa’s Procreate art has vastly improved.
“Slow and steady wins the race,” – an allusion to an Aesop Fable
Confession: I did not stick with Procreate four years ago, and today, I have regressed. I have forgotten the tricks I learned.
Today, I am looking at Bardot’s earliest work more objectively. She was trying to simplify her art product–a trick that I certainly need to learn [especially if I want to illustrate my art]. So here I am, four years later, [ hat in hand], and I am returning to Bardot’s earliest tutorials. I am trying to walk her walk. Hopefully, by standing on the shoulders of Lisa Bardot’s progress and her excellent teaching style, it won’t take me four years to improve.
I should say that I am darting back and forth from Bardot’s earlier tutorials to her later ones. Bardot’s Procreate Brush Sets have also improved. Along with each of her sets of paint brushes, Bardot provides an important User Guide in PDF. Four years ago, I was in a hurry. I did not take the time to read Bardot’s User Guides. That was a huge mistake–a mistake that set me back years.
One last shout-out for Lisa Bardot and Bardot Brush: I am all in now. I have even joined the club: The Art Makers Club.
I joined The Art Makers Club to make the process easier for learning how to conquer Procreate.
In the same way that is true about learning other types of art, Learning how to use Procreate is a multi-faceted beast. By joining Lisa Bardot’s Art Makers Club I jumped the hurdles of figuring out a color scheme and learning to draw.
In the Bardot Art Makers Club Lisa Bardot provides the club members with paint swatches and a carefully-crafted stack of Procreate files to alleviate one’s learning process.
